about

A Bengali-American and native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Neel Ghosh's artistic work has embodied many forms within the comedic, musical and improvisational space. As a stand up comedian, Neel has performed at The Comedy Store, UCB, The Hollywood Improv, The Stand, New York Comedy Club and regularly tours internationally and nationally as a stand up.

Neel is also a lifelong musician and is currently hybridizing both music and comedy for a unique performance experience. Armed with his saxophone, looping machine and silly brain, Neel creates improvised songs on the spot. He is honing his act for a one man show, where both his musical and comedy abilities are highlighted.

Neel attended the University of Southern California and Emory University where he studied with Gary Motley, Randy Hunter, and Bob Mintzer, respectively. Neel was a member of the Thornton Jazz Orchestra and toured and taught in Colombia in the summer of 2015 as part of an educational outreach by Centro Colombo Americano. In May 2023 Neel completed his Masters at The New School in New York City, expanding his training even further in live looping, composition, saxophone and electronics.
